What We Have on the Floor
Our casino is located at 300 Pinewood Park Drive in North Bay, Ontario. The building was designed specifically as a gaming and entertainment venue and opened in April 2022 after a CAD 41 million investment by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited. Around 200 local roles were created with the opening, which was a significant moment for the area’s hospitality sector.
The property is about 39,000 square feet. It was planned and built from the ground up, not converted from an older site. Cumulus Architects led the design work, and Gillam Group oversaw construction.
On the gaming floor, we focus on three main styles of play: slot machines, live table games, and electronic virtual tables. Each category tends to attract a slightly different type of guest.
| Gaming Category | Count |
|---|---|
| Slot Machines | 300 |
| Live Table Games | 6 |
| Virtual/Electronic Tables | 10 |
Three hundred slot machines provide a solid amount of choice without feeling overwhelming. Our six live tables are for guests who prefer the classic experience with a dealer, chips and felt. The ten virtual tables sit between slots and live play - you are using table game formats, but through an electronic interface and very much at your own pace. Wheelchair access and communication supports are available on request across the entire gaming floor.
Getting Around on Your First Visit
For a first visit, the layout is quite direct once you step through the main doors, but it helps to have a few basics in mind.
- Come in through the main entrance off Pinewood Park Drive and check in at guest services first.
- You can pick up a floor map there, or simply ask one of our team - staff circulate on the floor.
- At the slot machines, choose any available seat, insert cash or a printed voucher and follow the on-screen prompts.
- At live tables, wait until the current hand or round is finished before sitting or placing a bet.
- Virtual tables work through on-screen menus; after the first tap-through, most guests find them very intuitive.
- We have on-site ABMs if you need Canadian dollars during your visit.
- Printed vouchers from the slots can be cashed out at the main cashier or at self-serve ticket redemption terminals.
If you are not fully comfortable with a table game’s rules, it is important to say so before the next round starts. Ask the dealer quietly and up front. Our dealers are trained to explain the basics clearly, and it avoids confusion once the cards or dice are already in play.
Services That Actually Make a Difference
Parking on site is free. It may sound minor, but for casino visits in Ontario it removes one extra step and cost from planning your evening. On the floor we offer complimentary non-alcoholic drinks - coffee, tea and fountain pop - for gaming guests. Over a longer stay, that becomes noticeable and you do not need to leave the floor just to get a simple drink.
| On-Site Service | Details |
|---|---|
| Parking | Free, on-site |
| Non-Alcoholic Beverages | Complimentary on the gaming floor |
| ABMs | Available on-site |
| Currency Exchange | Available on-site |
| Accessibility | Wheelchairs, accessible formats, communication supports on request |
We also have currency exchange available on the property. This is relevant if you are visiting from outside Canada or if you simply prefer to handle your budget in cash. Our accessibility support - wheelchairs, accessible documents and communication support - can be arranged on request at no additional cost.
Taken together, these services are designed so that the casino can function as a self-contained stop. You do not need extra runs to an off-site bank machine or parking lot just to keep your visit going smoothly.
Match Eatery and Public House
Match Eatery and Public House is our on-site restaurant and sports bar. It is Gateway’s signature dining brand and acts as a separate, open-door space within the building. You do not have to be playing to eat or have a drink here; a lot of guests visit purely for Match.
Reservations are not required for a standard night, although on peak evenings or on event nights, it can get busy. The food follows a familiar sports bar format, with a menu built around casual meals and shareable plates. You can order directly from your server at the table or at the bar, depending on where you are seated.
It is important to keep one detail in mind: the complimentary drinks we mentioned earlier apply to the gaming floor only. All food and beverage orders at Match Eatery are separate purchases. After your meal, it is easy to check what is happening on property that night before heading back out on the floor or calling it an evening.
